Part Time – Full Time
20 – 35 hr/wk (Finish work by 9:30 pm at the latest! 6:30 pm on other days!!)
$18.50 an hour + tips (>$10 /hr)
You have always felt like a natural host and enjoy making others feel at home. You know that beer isn’t just cold, yellow and fizzy. You love sharing your excitement and love of the craft with the general public and getting paid to do it sounds like the perfect job to fit into your busy schedule.
Whether you’re pouring a pint, filling a growler or educating people about the difference between Belgian inspired beers, and West Coast hop-forward styles – you know people want our beer and you’re want to help get it to them.
Category 12 is growing! Situated on the Saanich Peninsula, we opened our doors just over eight years ago and now have a lounge and bistro! We left our careers behind to open Category 12 and unleash our creativity on the world while proudly blending it with our scientific roots. We have a modern, bright and inviting work environment with a great on-site lounge now expanded and with a kitchen. We brew beers that are hard to make and love truly unique flavour experiences that are both Belgian and West Coast inspired. We have a deep fascination with the science and art of all things fermented and we are obsessed with all the geeky details (microbes and all!). Seven years in, we still feel like we are still just beginning to flex our creative muscles with new ideas constantly in development. We’re a tight-knit group of friendly, passionate people that thrive on taking the beer we brew and food we make seriously but not ourselves. We enjoy supporting each other, sharing our beer, food (and story) with the public and getting the job done every day.
You are:
- Enjoy talking to new people and a master of quick, genuine interactions
- “Can-do” customer focused attitude (you like helping people figure out what to buy)
- Willing and able to pivot between retail interactions and table service
- Able to take direction, criticism and praise from customers and management
- Able to anticipate and support your teammate’s needs
You have:
- Experience in service oriented work environments is a plus
- Serving it Right
- Food Safe certification is a bonus
